Speedwatch
As a Parish Council we have long been concerned about the speed of traffic on Heath Road and despite the speed limit reduction from 40 to 30mph, we are disappointed that some motorists continue to drive far too fast. We understand that the Police have been carrying out some enforcement in the area and we are looking for new Speedwatch volunteers so we can record details of speeding vehicles (we have an approved Speedwatch site close to the primary school).
As part of Speedwatch, registered keepers of vehicles exceeding the speed limit are contacted - initially with a letter explaining the potential risks and consequences of their dangerous behaviour. Repeat offenders will receive a visit from the local police, irrespective of where they live. Beyond these friendly gestures, focused enforcement and criminal prosecution follow, based on collated evidence.
If you would be interested in helping out as a Speedwatch volunteer please e-mail the parish clerk [email protected] and register using the link below. Any amount of time you could give would be much appreciated, even an hour a month would make a real difference.
