We met with Kent Police today who are encouraging all residents to sign up to ‘My Community Voice’ (MCV) https://www.mycommunityvoicekent.co.uk/

My Community Voice is a messaging service that helps residents keep in touch with their local policing team. The service will send updates, via e-mail, about Boughton Monchelsea, directly from the police officers themselves. Our beat officers here are PC Harry Greenfield and PC Lee Tallon.

My Community Voice is more than just a messaging service; it allows you to reply to the alerts you receive, share information and tell the Police about the issues affecting you. Complete the Priority Survey at the same time as you register. Surveys run for a 4 week period followed by targeted work by the beat officers over the next 4 to 6 weeks based on the issues residents are reporting. The cycle then repeats, ensuring the focus is always on current issues.

When you sign up for MCV you input your postcode, select the area you wish to receive alerts for then pick your top three local policing priorities. You can use the free text box marked ‘other issue’ to detail exactly what and where any problems are.

You can view crime figures for your area on the Kent Police website https://www.kent.police.uk/

The Police mapping system unfortunately doesn’t exactly match the Boughton Monchelsea parish boundary but hopefully the two will be aligned in the future. The Police areas covering Boughton Monchelsea are as follows :

Boughton Monchelsea & Chart Sutton – village and rural areas

Parkwood & Mangravet – Thomas Rider Way and Roman Way developments, plus Parkwood industrial estate

Leeds & Langley – Langley Park housing development

Loose & Linton – homes in Hubbards Lane

There are currently only 42 My Community Voice users registered in Boughton Monchelsea. Sign up now and let the Police know what your local policing priorities are so that PC Greenfield and PC Tallon can focus their work on the issues affecting you https://www.mycommunityvoicekent.co.uk/
